YAIR HOD FAINAS


Born in Jerusalem, Yair commences violin making in 1997, working aside Russian master violin maker Gregory Steinas.

After serving in the Israeli army he enters the famous national French violin making school, Jean Baptiste Vuillaume, in Mirecourt, where he obtains a "Diplôme de métier d'Art" (summa cum laude).

Yair had worked with prominent makers such as Nicolas Perrin, Serge Boyer, Patrice Rabillé, Jean-Michel Desplanche, Christophe Landon(NYC), and bow maker Sylvie Masson.

Since 2008 Yair is a member of the Violin Society of America.

Obtains a "Certificate of merit for cello tone" at the Violin Society of America competition in Portland Oregon 2008.

Obtains a "Certificate of merit" at the Violoncellenseine cello making competition in Paris 2010. 

His violins, violas and cellos are played around the world by professionals and advanced students.
